Neck trim

It's time to add stripes to underlay the fretboard and peghead veneer. The first one is black fiber on the neck, and while I glued that I locked the reinforcement T bars into the routed channels. This is all epoxy; since I'm a tough guy with non-adjustable reinforcement, I'm taking extra care to keep water-based glue out of the neck and keep it as stable as possible (I also like dying it black so the line is invisible against black fiber). I learned my lesson on the neck and am using different tricks with staples and steel brads to keep pieces from sliding around like ice cubes on the kitchen floor.

Next I sanded the first piece of black fiber flush with the peghead and slammed black fiber and maple veneer onto the peghead in one go. The clamps look like overkill, but this peghead doesn't give much solid area to clamp on the bottom, so those are all hanging on rather lightly.

There's one more piece to go on the neck.

    There's never enough clamps.
