I am amazing

Tonight was the night to glue the inside rim veneer. Same routine as before (except it's harder to work the inside): dry clamp the whole thing, remove half the clamps and spread glue, replace clamps, do the other half, done. Except after the first half I realized I glue on the decorative face of the veneer and the backing was facing out. Fortunately I had opted to use Titebond this time, so I just washed everything off with our fun new basement utility sink, packed the veneer in paper towel, and gave up for the night. This is progress from jumping up and down and lying on the floor for a while, which I may have done before. Maybe tomorrow I will keep my head where the sun is shining and use it.

Wow! I must be amazing too because I have done the exact same thing. I find it hard to believe that I was able to pass college level calculus, physics, and chemistry YET when faced with the decision of which side of a piece of wood to glue to another piece of wood I am unable to pick the correct side. Wood working does interesting things to the mind.

It would almost be excusable if glue fumes caused these mistakes, but the piece is positioned before the glue is ever opened!
