After an incredibly stupid mistake of buying four wrong-sized band saw blades, my new blades came in from WoodCraft Bands in North Carolina today. I put the general purpose blade in first. It slipped right on! But it left a perfectly jagged cut because it has a kink or something. Meh. Later I switched to the resaw blade and she started purring. The first thing I did was grab a hunk of downed maple and try to saw it. Here's the result. The ends are checking really badly. I don't know if it's a problem in my process or if that's just what happens with a little branch whose rings are spun as tight as a spring, but it's a start. The middle chunks are a good 1/2" x 5" x 12" on the quarter for a nice stack of banjo bridges. There's a good 5' of branch left to saw, too. Man, that was fun.
