Sha-banjo!

Lifelong family friend Larry rolled these gorgeous brass hoops for me in his RV shop. The thicker one will become my tension hoop after I drill holes for hooks and grind a notch for the strings to pass. It is allegedly brazed, but I sure can't spot a joint from here! The blinding competence of man who learned to weld before he could walk. The other two are flesh hoops, one for my project and the other for putting a skin head on my buddy Jason's Epiphone resonator banjo to see if I can mellow it out a bit. I am psyched to get these hoops tomorrow. Having that tension hoop means I will have the final outside diameter of my rim, so I can start building that.
