Bone underwear buttons

Many readers of this blog are either luthiers or sewers (SOE-wers). Here's something for everyone: Richard Brown is using a jar of 19th century bone underwear buttons from his mother's collection to inlay a banjo neck. As folks on the Banjo Hangout are commenting, he makes very clever use of the negative spaces from the button holes. I hear bone is a good inlay material. In this case the price is right and he doesn't have to process the raw bone! You gotta love the trivia that rides alongside this hobby.
